Clinical Deep Tissue Massage – thumb, hand & body saving, 21 or 16 CE
Deep massage techniques do not need to be painful for the client or the therapist. Learn guidelines for safe & effective clinical deep massage techniques, 7 different types of strokes for Myofascial release, Trigger Points, stretching, postural assessment skills, and proper body mechanics and techniques to avoid injury. Specific techniques for the neck, TMJ, pecs, shoulders, arms, lower back, hips, and legs will be presented & practiced. All methods are presented without using thumbs & practiced in ways that have the least physical impact on the therapist’s hands and body while still working into the deeper layers of the client’s tissues for maximum benefit & pain relief.
Integrative Forearm Massage (to save hands), 12 CE
Protect your hands, elevate your practice, and ensure career longevity. This course equips massage therapists with the skills to deliver safe, effective, and client‑centered full‑body massage using the forearms as the primary tool. Emphasis is placed on body mechanics and injury‑prevention strategies, enabling therapists to work with maximum efficiency and minimal strain even when performing the deepest massage. Through hands‑on practice, participants will master 8 different Integrative Forearm Massage techniques with seamless transitions that may be performed very light or very deep. These techniques can easily be integrated into any massage session for an improved experience for the client and therapist.
Cupping – Moving Cups Massage, 8 CE
Learn the history, safe usage & proper application of the ancient healing modality of Cupping. No fire is used. Cups are kept moving to avoid any pain, marks, bruising, or damage to the skin or capillaries. Moving cups massage technique is highly effective at improving skin tone, treating scar tissue, facilitating Myofascial & Neuromuscular release, relieving pain, reducing the appearance of wrinkling & cellulite dimpling, and improving circulation, sinus drainage, and lymphatic drainage. The technique helps save the therapists’ hands while having a profound effect on the client.
Facial Rejuvenation Massage, 8 CE
A relaxing and rejuvenating facial massage treatment that engages several acupressure points. Treatment includes a “honey pat”, warm towel application, optional aromatherapy, lymphatic drainage, TMJ and buccal massage, facial toning & relaxation massage. All techniques learned and experienced help tone, uplift, remove tension, reduce wrinkles, puffiness, and support circulation and lymph drainage of the upper body for a youthful glow. These facial massage techniques may benefit Bell’s palsy, facial tics, eye droop, sinus problems, eyesight & TMJ discomfort. This course is open to both Massage Therapists and Estheticians.
TMJ and Neck Pain solutions, 8 CE
Learn how to effectively treat temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction, neck pain, cervical dysfunction, and headaches without straining your thumbs or hands. Techniques taught include orthopedic massage, myofascial release, neuromuscular techniques, external and intraoral TMJ massage, and stretching.
Reflexology with hand-saving tools, 8 CE
Learn to skillfully stimulate specific reflexology points that correspond to various bodily organs and systems without straining your hands & thumbs. This course covers the history, theory, application, and map of reflex points for hands & feet. Traditional Reflexology, Tibetan Reflexology, and reflexology tool methods are presented and practiced.
Ayurvedic Head Massage, 4 CE
While the title suggests only the head, this massage technique also works on the scalp, face, TMJ, neck, upper arms, shoulders, and upper back, focusing on the areas most prone to tension and stress. These relaxing massage techniques have been practiced for thousands of years in India and are calming, yet revitalizing. These massage techniques offer clients gentle relief from tension, stress, pain & headaches and stimulate the scalp to encourage hair growth and health. This course is open to Massage Therapists, Estheticians & Cosmetologists.
Introduction to Essential Oils & Aromatherapy, 8 CE
Information will be presented on the history, cultivation, healing properties, safe application & use of pure essential oils & aromatherapy. The educated & safe use of essential oils & aromatherapy may aid the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of the client & therapist. Aromatherapy may also create additional income, up charges, attract new clients, offer existing clients something new & exciting, and add value to your current services. Students will learn basic protocols of aromatherapy & make their own custom blend to take home. This course is open to Massage Therapists, Estheticians, Cosmetologists, and Health Care Professionals.
Raindrop Balancing Massage, 8 CE
Raindrop integrates the use of Native American healing techniques, Lymphatic drainage, relaxing massage therapy techniques, and the application of 9 specific essential oils to bring balance to every physical, mental & emotional system of the body & facilitate total relaxation. Raindrop massage has a deep effect on the client, even though it is easy for the therapist. Participants will learn the history, benefits, safety & proper application of Raindrop. Each participant will give & receive a Raindrop balancing massage. Michelle was trained in Raindrop by the creator of the technique and is also C.A.R.E. certified in Raindrop.
Preventing injuries and burnout, 4 CE
Statistics show that 80% of therapists experience injury from performing massage, and the average career is only 5–7 years. Learn ways to decrease risk factors for injury and burnout, make your workspace more ergonomic, and prioritize self-care for career longevity.
Ethics and Boundaries, 4 CE
Professional boundaries create an ethical & professional environment for both the client & therapist. NCBTMB code of ethics & standards of practice are covered. This is an interactive class that includes group interaction, discussion & problem-solving exercises.
Fijian Barefoot Massage, 16 CE
This protocol varies from other barefoot techniques in that no bars, overhead ropes, or oil are required. All techniques presented can be done with clients fully clothed in soft clothing, lying on cushions & the therapist can be barefoot or wear cotton socks. Therapist may stand or sit in a chair. These techniques, similar to Sports Massage, have a deep therapeutic effect on the client without putting any stress on the therapist’s body, as hands are almost never used. Students will learn the benefits and proper application of these full-body massage techniques. Michelle has advanced training in Fijian massage from the founder of Fijian Massage, Lolita Knight and is one of her few certified instructors approved to teach Fijian. Michelle has been practicing Fijian Massage since 2009.
