Fijian Barefoot Massage, 16 CE

This protocol varies from other barefoot techniques in that no bars, overhead ropes, or oil is required.  All techniques presented can be done with clients fully clothed in soft clothing, laying on cushions & the therapist can be barefoot or wear cotton socks.  Therapist may stand or sit in a chair. These techniques similar to Sports Massage have a deep therapeutic effect on the client without putting any stress on the therapist’s body as hands are almost never used.  Students will learn the benefits and proper application of these full-body massage techniques. Michelle has advanced training in Fijian massage from the founder of Fijian Massage, Lolita Knight and is one of her few certified instructors. Michelle has over 13 years experience practicing Fijian Massage.

Advanced Fijian Barefoot Massage with Oils, 8 CE

Learn history, benefits & proper application of massage techniques from Fiji.  Learn to perform a deep massage with absolutely no stress or strain on the therapist and almost no use of hands.  This protocol varies from other barefoot techniques in that no bars or overhead ropes are required to save the therapist’s hands.   Massage oils are added to traditional massage techniques from Fiji for a totally unique experience, with the therapist sitting in a chair to massage the client with both feet simultaneously. This class requires draping or the client may wear a bathing suit or shorts (unlike traditional Fijian massage where the client is fully clothed).

Fijian To Go, 4 CE

The most portable & versatile Fijian barefoot massage techniques.  Perfect for chair massage events, the outdoors, & small spaces.  A chair & a few cushions are all that is needed to set up for this on-the-go massage.  Learn how to perform deeper chair massage techniques with your feet to save your hands & body.

Introduction to Moving Cups Massage, 8 CE

Learn the history, safe usage & proper application of this ancient Chinese healing technique.  No fire is used.  Cups are kept moving to avoid any marking, bruising, or damage to the skin.  This technique is highly effective at improving skin tone, reducing scar tissue adhesions, Myofascial & Trigger Point release, reduces the appearance of wrinkling & cellulite dimpling while moving circulation & lymphatic drainage.  The technique is very easy for the therapist while having a profound effect on the client.

Specific techniques are presented for back pain,  facial toning, sinus decongestion, scar tissue & fascia release. 

Facial Rejuvenation Massage, 7 CE

A relaxing and rejuvenating facial massage treatment that engages several shiatsu points.  Treatment includes a “honey pat”, warm towel application, optional aromatherapy, lymphatic drainage, TMJ treatment, toning & relaxation massage.  All techniques learned and experienced help tone, uplift, remove tension, reduce wrinkles, puffiness and move circulation and lymph of the upper body for a youthful glow.  These facial massage techniques may benefit Bell’s palsy, facial tics, eye droop, sinus problems, eyesight & TMJ discomfort. This course is open to both Massage Therapists and Estheticians.

Ayurvedic Head Massage, 4 CE

While the title indicates only the head, this massage technique also works on the scalp, face, TMJ, neck, upper arms, shoulders, and upper back areas, focusing on the parts of the body most prone to tension and stress.  These relaxing massage techniques have been practiced for over a thousand years in India and are calming, yet revitalizing while giving clients gentle relief from pain & headaches.  Techniques may be performed with the client on a massage table or while the client is fully clothed sitting in a chair (so it may be used for chair massage events, corporate/office events, for clients who may be disabled and cannot lie on a table and as an add on for clients who may be waiting for or receiving another service such as hair or nail services).  This course is open to both Massage Therapists, Estheticians & Cosmetologists.

Ayurvedic Head Massage for Table & Chair, 8 CE

Ancient Ayurvedic Head Massage techniques are presented for both the massage table and chair massage.  While the title indicates only the head being massaged, this massage technique works on the scalp, face, TMJ, neck, upper arms, shoulders, and upper back areas, focusing on the parts of the body most prone to tension and stress.  These massage & point techniques have been practiced for over a thousand years in India and are calming, yet revitalizing while giving clients gentle relief from pain & headaches.  The 8 hour course includes full protocols for both the Massage table and Massage chair.

Introduction to Essential Oils & Aromatherapy, 8 CE

Information will be presented on the history, cultivation, healing properties, safe application & use of pure essential oils & aromatherapy.  The educated & safe use of essential oils & aromatherapy may aid the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of the client & therapist.  Aromatherapy may also create additional income, upcharges, attract new clients, offer existing clients something new & exciting and add value to your current services.  Students will learn basic protocols of aromatherapy & make their own custom blend to take home. This course is open to Massage Therapists, Estheticians, Cosmetologists, Health Care Professionals.

 Raindrop Balancing Massage, 8 CE

Raindrop integrates the use of Native American healing techniques, Lymphatic drainage, relaxing massage therapy techniques, and the application of 9 specific essential oils to bring balance to every physical, mental & emotional system of the body & facilitate total relaxation.  Raindrop massage has a deep effect on the client even though it is easy for the therapist.  Participants will learn the history, benefits, safety & proper application of Raindrop.  Each participant will give & receive a Raindrop balancing massage.

Clinical Deep Tissue Massage with focus on injury prevention, 16 CE

Deep tissue doesn’t need to be painful for the client or therapist.  Learn guidelines for safe & effective clinical deep tissue massage, 7 different types of strokes for fascia release, stretching, proper body mechanics & techniques to avoid injury, basic postural assessment skills.  Specific techniques for the neck, TMJ, pecs, shoulders, arms, low back, hips, and legs will be presented & practiced.  All techniques are presented without using thumbs & practiced in ways that have the least physical impact on the therapist’s hands and body while still working into the deeper layers of the client’s tissues for maximum benefit & pain relief.

Panoramic Deep Tissue Massage with focus on injury prevention 8, CE

Students will learn a variety of safe & effective fascial release techniques with elbows, forearms, pisiform, knuckles, fists, and lateral hand (not thumbs) methods to save hands & avoid injury.  Techniques are focused on the neck, shoulders, back & hips.

Chair Massage with focus on injury prevention, 5 CE

Learn how to use your core power,  leverage, acupressure & body mechanics to deliver a fantastic chair massage experience that is easy on the Therapist’s body. 

Introduction to Reflexology, 6 CE

Skillfully stimulating specific reflexology points which correspond to various bodily organs and systems can have a beneficial effect on a person’s health.  This course covers the history, theory, and map of reflex points for hands & feet as well as specific Reflexology Massage & acupressure techniques for stimulating these points.  Tibetan Reflexology techniques are also presented to save wear & tear on the therapists’ hands. This course is open to both Massage Therapists and Estheticians.

BEE a Spa, 8 CE

This course will provide instruction on creating & marketing your own signature spa treatments.  Spa treatments & add ons are a simple way to create a luxurious experience for clients, generate additional income, attract new clients, offer existing clients something new & exciting, offer seasonal or holiday-themed treatments, and add value to your existing services.  Most pre-made spa products you can purchase are quite expensive and are full of fillers, synthetics, and perfumes.  This course includes recipes with simple, natural plant based, inexpensive ingredients like honey & coconut oil & optional essential oils.  All the treatments are able to be performed on a standard massage table & products may be removed with moist, warm towels. Each student will be able to take home their creations. This course is open to both Massage Therapists and Estheticians.

Soft Touch Island Massage, 4 or 5 CE

Learn soft, soothing massage techniques from the islands.  These relaxing techniques incorporate maneuvers for sensory confusion, unique patterns & variances so the client can not predict what will happen next and is forced to stop thinking and completely relax the mind & body. Many techniques are performed with forearms for optimal injury prevention.

Aromatic Hot Stone Massage, 16 CE

Learn how to safely combine ancient hot stone massage with therapeutic essential oils for maximum relaxation, stress & pain relief.  The history of these healing techniques, safety guidelines, effective usage, specific strokes & applications will all be presented & experienced during this course that is easy on the therapists’ hands.  Both client and therapist will feel the beneficial effects of this massage.  Open to Massage Therapists with all levels of experience with hot stones.

***Students must bring their own hot stone sets.***

Tibetan Foot Massage Ritual, 3 CE

A specific foot massage ritual is presented to relax & balance the entire body.  The ritual includes Vitaflex (Tibetan Reflexology) massage, lymph drainage techniques & relaxation massage applied with the option of aromatherapy oils.  Unlike traditional reflexology which is hard on the therapist’s hands, Vitaflex Tibetan reflexology is very easy on the therapist’s hands.

 Hand & Body Saving Strategies for Bodyworkers, 3 CE

Statistics show that 80% of therapists experience injury from performing massage & bodywork.  Learn ways to decrease risk factors for injury, create an ergonomic workspace, cultivate proper body mechanics & create a customized strategy for injury prevention, self-care & career longevity.  

Creating Prosperity & Abundance in your Massage Practice, 3 CE

Business building strategies for growing & retaining clientele are presented for the massage therapist whether self-employed or an employee.   In this interactive class, therapists will participate in activities to identify & remove any roadblocks or ineffective roads to prosperity and make a customized plan of action to improve their business & income.  

Professional Ethics for Bodyworkers, 4 CE

Learn the steps to ensure an ethical & professional environment for both the client & bodyworker.  NCBTMB code of ethics & standards of practice is included.  This is an interactive class that includes group interaction, discussion & problem-solving exercises.
